Action Changes Things … ACT!: Josefina undertakes her solidarity challenge at her school in Berlin
What a great example is that of 10-year-old Josefina who with her conviction, drive and desire to change the world, has managed to move and inspire her entire school to donate books and sell them so that the Pablo Horstmann Foundation can buy shoes for the children of our preschools in Kenia!
During the solidarity week "How Year 6 are changing the World" organized at the Berlin British School, Josefina‘s presentation got a special mention and her fundraising proposal to help children was carried out by students and teachers at her school.
Josefina started her presentation telling the story of her godmother, a woman of Iranian origin who had to emigrate to the United States. Having left her home and family, she struggled to start a new life, studied hard and finally managed to realize her dream of being a doctor. Today, Dr. Roxana Mehran is one of the most recognized cardiologists in the world.
Even if that is a story of a successful migrant, Josefina decides that she does not want other children to have to emigrate to other countries seeking for a better future. She would like to give them the opportunity of an education at their place of origin, where they really feel at home and have their families.
And that is what has moved Josefina to take on this challenge of solidarity and motivate all the students and teachers at her school to fundraise for MORE THAN 100 PAIRS OF SHOES for the children of our preschools in Turkana, Kenia!
THANKS TO ALL THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF THE BERLIN BRITISH SCHOOL!!
